How is the EACFA20 different from the EACIL20?
The core difference is the Architecture.
- EACIL20: Intel CPU (x86), runs Windows.
- EACFA20: NXP i.MX6 (ARM Cortex-A9) CPU, runs Linux or Android.
- Selection Rule: Choose the FA20 if you need extreme power efficiency, Android app support, or are developing a custom embedded Linux appliance.
What are the benefits of the NXP i.MX6 processor?
The NXP i.MX6 is famous for its Long-Term Availability (10-15 years) and industrial stability. You don't have to worry about the CPU going End-of-Life (EOL) unexpectedly, making it perfect for long-running industrial projects.
Which operating systems run on the EACFA20?
It focuses on embedded ecosystems:
- Android 6.0: Great for legacy industrial Android apps or HMI use.
- Linux (Yocto / Ubuntu 16.04): Provides a lightweight, open-source environment for developers (BSP provided).
Note: It does NOT support Windows.
